Weekend a St Moritz

Quando la valle si apre davanti ai nostri occhi quello che colpisce è la luce brillante che la pervade. Un panorama splendido che riempie i nostri occhi di bellezza mentre percorriamo la strada che ci porterà a St Moritz, una delle mete di montagna più esclusive dal clima chiamato “champagne”. I primi turisti invernali giunsero qui nel lontano 1864 e da allora iniziò l’epoca dei grandi fasti, degli smoking, dei party più esclusivi e degli abiti da sera sotto alle pellicce. Il fulcro della movida divenne il Palace Hotel, aperto nel 1896 dagli eredi della famiglia Badrutt e dove Alfred Hitchcock passò la luna di miele, ma con esso oggi possiamo soggiornare al Kulm, al Grand Hotel Kempinski, al Grace, al Carlton o al Crystal. La giornata inizia con una suggestiva colazione con vista montagne, poi possiamo goderci una passeggiata sul lago e un giro di shopping dove Brigitte Bardot, Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, Friedrich Nietzsche ed Herman Hesse amavano passeggiare. Non può mancare un te nell’antica pasticceria Hanselmann. Un bagno iin piscina e poi ci prepariamo per la cena, molte le valide offerte culinarie.

When the valley opens up before our eyes, what strikes us is the bright light that pervades it. A splendid panorama that fills our eyes with beauty as we drive along the road that will take us to St Moritz, one of the most exclusive mountain destinations with a climate called “champagne”. The first winter tourists arrived here back in 1864 and from then on began the era of great splendour, tuxedos, the most exclusive parties and evening dresses under furs. The hub of the nightlife became the Palace Hotel, opened in 1896 by the heirs of the Badrutt family and where Alfred Hitchcock spent his honeymoon, but with it today we can stay at the Kulm, the Grand Hotel Kempinski, the Grace, the Carlton or the Crystal. The day starts with a charming breakfast with a view of the mountains, then we can enjoy a walk on the lake and a shopping trip where Brigitte Bardot, Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, Friedrich Nietzsche and Herman Hesse loved to walk. A cup of tea in the old Hanselmann patisserie is a must. A swim in the pool and then we get ready for dinner, there are many good culinary offers.
