«The Sea Deck» by Azimut

Sono salita a”bordo” dell’installazione galleggiante «The Sea Deck» disegnata da Michele De Lucchi e AMDL CIRCLE per Azimut. Il Cantiere sta virando verso scelte più consapevoli e rispettose dell’ambiente e in quest’ottica ha deciso di utilizzare il sughero, un materiale sostenibile e molto leggero, per i deck degli yachts della Serie Seadeck. Il sughero è un materiale che si rigenera spontaneamente e può essere estratto senza danneggiare l’albero. Volendo interpretare questa scelta è stata creata una passeggiata emozionale sull’acqua da fare a piedi nudi e realizzata con 2 milioni di tappi di bottiglia in sughero riciclati e macinati che verranno poi verranno nuovamente trasformati in materiale isolante per l’architettura. Durante questa passeggiata abbiamo scoperto le varie tappe che Azimut ha intrapreso nell’ottica di ridurre le emissioni di CO2 e i consumi energetici di bordo.

I went aboard the floating installation “The Sea Deck” designed by Michele De Lucchi and AMDL CIRCLE for Azimut. The shipyard is turning towards more conscious and environmentally friendly choices and has decided to use cork, a sustainable and very light material, for the decks of the yachts of the Seadeck Series. Cork is a material that regenerates spontaneously and can be extracted without damaging the tree. Wanting to interpret this choice, an emotional walk on the water was created to be done barefoot and made with 2 million recycled and ground cork bottle caps that will then be transformed again into insulating material for architecture. During this walk I discovered the various steps that Azimut has undertaken to reduce CO2 emissions and on-board energy consumption.
