Saint Paul De Vence e La Colombe D’Or

Ci sono luoghi ricchi di magia, il cui fascino si perpetua nei secoli crescendo e rimanendo impresso nei cuori di chi li visita. Uno di questi è il romantico borgo Saint-Paul de Vence, qui stradine lastricate si inerpicano tra botteghe artigiane, angoli fioriti, costruzioni medievali, fontane e scorci spettacolari. Da sempre meta preferita artisti e intellettuali ci regala la bellezza della Chapelle du Rosaire, dipinta da Matisse. Nella mitica piazza che introduce al borgo, sotto alberi secolari, da sempre gli abitanti di Saint-Paul de Vence si trovano per giocare a bocce, vi giocarono anche Yves Montand e Lino Ventura. La bellissima Grace Kelly lo visitò nel 1955 e vi girarono alcune scene del film “caccia al Ladro”.

Dopo una splendida passeggiata come non fermarsi alla rinomata Colombe d’Or, i cui proprietari, la famiglia Roux, din dal 1920 custodiscono il segreto dell’arte di vivere e, nel corso degli anni, hanno ospitato personalità straordinarie quali Pablo Picasso, Jacques Prévert, Matisse, Braque, César, Marc Chagall, i coniugi Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Jean Paul Belmondo e Simone Signoret. nelle sue sale si possono trovare quadri di questi grandi artisti che in passato venivano scambiati con un soggiorno o qualche pasto. Un luogo incantevole sulla cui terrazza un tempo si poteva ammirare il volo delle colombe al tramonto che con quella particolare luce si illuminavano di riflessi dorati. Sedersi ad uno dei suoi tavoli è qualcosa di unico, dal menù ho scelto il fois gras d’anatra, il galletto arrosto e il soufflé fiammeggiante al Gran Marnier, il tutto accompagnato da una selezione di vini francesi.

Sitting at one of its tables is something unique, from the menu I chose the duck fois gras, the roast cockerel and the flamboyant soufflé at gran Marnier, all accompanied by a selection of French wines.
